MSP for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley, Katie Hagmann, visited the 14-acre Land Energy site just outside Girvan last week for a learning visit and tour of the company’s expansive production facilities and wood storage areas.
She met with John Lancaster, Head of Sales and Logistics; Nicola Taylor, Head of Products; Fiona Lancaster, Head of Bulk Sales; and Steven Baillie, Girvan Operations Site Lead, who led her on an informative tour of the site.
The visit followed a presentation from senior staff about the history, products and key personnel of the company, as well as the unique economic challenges facing the biomass industry and the wider South Ayrshire region.
Katie Hagmann MSP said: “Land Energy is a business with sustainability at its heart. It has been incredible to hear about the opportunities the company is taking, but also its work in supporting the local community. Having really good employment opportunities is key to building the local economy, and Land Energy is doing just that. I’d like to thank the team for a fantastic visit to the site.”
