Girvan Youth Trust has gratefully received a £490 donation from South Ayrshire manufacturer Land Energy. The donation will be used to help fund extracurricular activities and support the work of its 80 Youth Volunteers in the town and surrounding areas.
Land Energy staff recently undertook a ‘Step Up Challenge’ and, in total, walked, ran, strolled and sauntered over 4.6 million steps, roughly the equivalent of 2,300 miles. This is the equivalent of walking from Land’s End to John o’ Groats more than two and a half times!
Amy Bisset, Project Co-ordinator at Girvan Youth Trust, said: “We are incredibly happy to have received this donation from Land Energy, and we would like to thank all the staff involved in the challenge and everyone who contributed. Not only will it allow us to fund some of our ongoing programmes, but it will also help us do more outreach work with the nearly 100 young people who struggle in more traditional settings.”
