The anticipation is growing: The second edition of the renowned trade fair for fireplaces, World of Fireplaces 2025 (WOF), is approaching and promises to be a special event with an impressive increase in exhibition space of over 32 per cent. It will take place from 28 to 30 April 2025 in Leipzig.
In addition to a large number of European participants, more exhibitors from overseas will be taking part, including India and the USA, strengthening WOF’s position as a global industry meeting point. With the innovative special show ‘Hybrid Heat’ and the knowledge and networking platform Fireplace HUB, the trade fair will focus on trends and developments that will be decisive for the future of the sector.
Preparations are in full swing: the second edition of World of Fireplaces 2025 (WOF) will take place in Leipzig from 28th to 30th April. Representatives from the entire value chain in the fireplaces sector will come together to discuss current trends and developments and to present products and innovations. With its focus on single-room fireplaces and their accessories, the international trade fair has already set new standards in 2023, which will now be further expanded.
There is much to suggest that the success story of the first edition will continue. Bookings have already exceeded the figures for 2023 and the exhibition space has grown by an impressive 32 per cent. Numerous new companies from Germany and abroad have been acquired.
Of the more than 250 exhibitors expected, Italy is the fastest-growing group of participants from abroad. Austria, Poland, Denmark and the United Kingdom are also strongly represented. In addition to Australia, China and Canada, companies from India and the USA are taking part for the first time as further overseas representatives, signalling a new trend.
“Trendfairs is delighted that the World of Fireplaces is attracting so much interest from exhibitors and visitors and that we are able to host such a valuable meeting place for the industry. The international participation shows the need for a trade fair as a platform for the industry to exchange ideas and network” says Michael Rambach, Partner and Managing Director of Trendfairs GmbH.
Andrea Drusian, Export Area Manager, MCZ Group, confirms the anticipation of the WOF and its international focus: “For MCZ, participation in the WORLD OF FIREPLACES … is a perfect opportunity to present the latest innovations and revolutionary combustion technology to an international audience.”
Renowned exhibitors and economic importance of the sector
The exhibitors who have already booked in include well-known names in the industry such as Brunner and Spartherm from Germany, Palazetti and La Nordica from Italy, Austroflamm and Rika from Austria, Hoxter and Kraktki from Poland, Nordpeis from Norway, M-Design Benelux from Belgium, Dinak from Spain and Glammfire from Portugal.
Nikolaus Fleischhacker, CEO, Oranier, emphasises the importance of his company’s participation: “An international trade fair for fireplaces is very important for the industry in many respects. Of course, it serves to present new products and establish a dialogue with dealers, tradespeople and service providers. But it is also an attention-grabbing platform for political lobbying, which is particularly important right now…”

The industry’s great interest in the WOF is not surprising given the significant economic importance of fireplaces. According to internal industry, trade and retail estimates, turnover from wood-burning stoves in Germany alone is around 4 billion euros per year. Around 400,000 appliances are sold every year.
Energy transition up close: innovative heating solutions at the ‘Hybrid heat’ special show
Topics relating to the energy transition are currently causing a lot of movement in the industry, which is reflected in new technical developments and innovations. With the special show ‘Hybrid Heat’ as an important highlight of the trade fair, WOF is taking this development into account.
Visitors will be given an overview of the range of innovative heating systems that combine conventional and regenerative heating technologies to efficiently supply domestic heating and hot water.
One of the exhibitors is the South Tyrolean company Wallnöfer: ‘In order to reduce the increasing environmental impact, it is important that we utilise renewable energy sources such as solar energy or wood. The special show ‘Hybrid Heat’ offers us the ideal platform to present our water-bearing wood gasification stoves to the specialist public,’ emphasises Hartwig Wallnöfer, Managing Director of Wallnöfer.
Fireplace HUB: knowledge transfer and networking
Hybrid heating concepts are also among the topics discussed at the WOF’s Fireplace HUB networking platform, as are other issues affecting the industry, such as air pollution control, security of supply and trade.
This is where managers from industry and associations enter into dialogue with trade visitors. Visitors can use this platform to exchange knowledge and network throughout the duration of the trade fair. They can also take part in expert panels, be inspired by innovative concepts and find out about the latest specialist topics.
These diverse options are designed to ensure that WOF is an enriching experience for all participants. ‘It is extremely important for trendfairs to create a welcoming atmosphere and to continuously improve our services in order to offer visitors and exhibitors an optimal trade fair experience,’ says Claudia Weidner, Managing Director of Trendfairs GmbH.
